About Me

My Background

I live in the seaside town of Redcliffe in Queensland Australia with my husband Peter. We also share our house with two cats Henri and Wyndoe and our poodle Elsa. Our house is an old beach shack just metres from the beautiful sands edging Moreton Bay. Peter and I have decided to close down our drafting business and take time out from the busy workdays to relax and soak up the Australian and African bush.

Why Africa

The first time I felt at peace was in 2001 when my husband Peter and I touched down in Nairobi, for our first ever safari. It was like I had just started to feel the air around me and listen to my heart. Since then we have travelled to Africa every year. Each year I turn west to hear the calls of lions willing me to return. We have visited Kenya, Botswana, Tanzania, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I have written a book about each of our adventures.

I have backpacked through Europe, visited Israel, touched briefly in the USA and Canada. Peter & I have also sailed around Svalbard far up in the Arctic Circle chasing polar bears.  We have also touched the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and looked into the  cauldron of a volcano in the DRC, but for all my travels I am always drawn back to Africa. Even as a child I wanted to go to Africa and was always dreaming about lions roaming free. Peter and I have visited many countries, in Africa. but our favourite is Botswana. The wildlife viewing is spectacular and the time we spend with our friend and guide Seagal always make for a memorable safari.
